Prefolds

Prefolded diapers are the least expensive diapering option. Used with a diaper cover, both our hemp and cotton Prefolds are absorbent, soft and strong and will gives you many months of use. As they are washed they will shrink slightly (the hemp a bit more than the cotton, which is why they are cut slightly larger) and they will become increasingly absorbent. The cotton will maintain and even increase its softness, while the hemp will lose its “fleecy” quality, but will continue to wrap your baby in antimicrobial comfort. Our V-shaped row of snaps is designed to let the diaper grow with your baby and eliminates the need for diaper pins. Simply snap on Blue Penguin’s Prefolds (see our diagram of “How to put on a Blue Penguin Prefold”) and use with any diaper cover .

Snap-On Prefold Cloth Diapers are rectangular diapers made of a layer of heavyweight terry and a layer of 100% cotton Flannelette fabric. One V shaped row of snaps designed to make the diaper grow with the baby and eliminate the need for diaper pins. Simply snap them on and use with any of our diaper covers. Diaper sizes: S (12"x13") fits babies up to about 14 lbs.; L (15"x20") fits babies up to roughly 18 - 20 lbs. By the time your child is larger than this, these diapers may not be the best choice. The softest hemp fleece makes for a wonderful prefold. Absorbent, strong and easy to change (snaps, no pins!), these diapers will win you over to the wonder of natural hemp. The fabric is 55% hemp and 45% cotton, and begins very soft and fuzzy. After several washings you will notice less lint coming off and the diapers losing some of their fuzzy quality, but retaining (or gaining in!) absorbency. Hemp is a wonderful fabric to have next to a baby: antimicrobial, grown without pesticides, durable and absorbent.			Click for larger image
